Setting up a proxy in Firefox can be really helpful if you want more privacy, want to access websites that aren't available in your area, or need it for certain tasks like web scraping. This guide will show you how to set up an IPv4 proxy step-by-step in Firefox.
First, you need to open Firefox's settings. Open your Firefox browser, click on the three lines in the top-right corner, and select Settings. This will take you to the browser's settings page.
Scroll down the Settings page until you see Network Settings. Here, you'll see a button called Settings.... Click on this button to open the connection settings.
In the Connection Settings window, you'll see different options for setting up your proxy. Choose Manual proxy configuration. Then, enter your IPv4 proxy details:
The overall format of the proxy is IP address:Port:Username. For example, 193.36.x.x:3120:stat:proxies
If your proxy needs a username and password, Firefox will ask you for it when you try to visit a website.
